What to ExpectI'm new to this style of role-play, so these are just estimates: 300-500 words 1-2 posts a week Possible Threads- Hundred Year's War
- Italian Wars
- Napoleonic Wars
- Christmas Truce
- The Renaissance
- French Colonization
- Anything
- Really anything at all
I am open to everything though! You suggest it, and I'll probably be up for it~ (And despite this list of wars I really like fluffy things too!)

Alright, so I did more research and you'll find it interesting the stuff I found about these two. So the idea that I pitched to you via messages can still work, luckily enough, but we'll have to morph is a bit. Since, during the early 18th century, French culture really sipped into the Ottoman way of life. The French language became the language of the intelligentsia and upper class as well as the way of governing was slowly shifting to something close to that of the French. Many young Ottomans were sent over to France to perfect there France and update the empire on the latest culture, that being art, fashion, cuisine, etc. So, although there was a huge interest in the Ottoman culture so was there a huge interest in French culture. So what I proposed about Sadik going to visit Francis and him showing him his artwork and what not well the reason Sadik could be visiting at all is to check up on his young people who are studying in France. And obviously to visit the man he has strange alliances with and non-alliances with. Anyway, here are some sites that you can use to read up on their relations. Some of them are more relevant then others and some I honestly just put there to scare you. xD I even found one of my testbooks online and that source is really good to look at. It talks, and not in super length luckily, on their relations and summarizes it in a nutshell, everything you need to know. Let me know if you need anything else or if we should start being more hardcore in the planning. @turkey: Wow, you are nothing if not thorough, holy crap. But that sounds like a good jumping point to me, are you thinking early or mid 18th century time? Francis will just be trying to get approval of all this cool new things he's showing off ahaha. Also ps you're rude, sending me things with the intent of scaring me!! xD But no this sounds good to me, do you want to star it? I'm not sure how much more planning you want to do. Germany: Yes let's do it! You want them to play football together, or something else...?

I don't think they should be the ones playing football because I would assume they are some of the higher officers so they'd actually be looking over the soldiers who are playing.
Maybe, they could share some conversation, kind of like, elderly people when they drink and start thinking of the olden days except to themselves.
We'd have to wait for England to chip in an idea or two but it wouldn't be anything too crazy. Maybe sharing a meal together (as in eating some rations of food they have...in the same proximity to make it seem like they're eating a meal together).

Ah that makes sense yes. I like the idea of sitting around pretending to have a nice meal together though, that souds really cute. If Arthur doesn't get online before then, I'll talk to her about it tomorrow when I see her.

I was thinking we could do some mentor!France Student!Japan? He did a tour of Europe after his restoration (Read: revolution) and he took a lot from France. I think a lot of it was related to schooling and food, and surprisingly they took on Military advice from the French too. They also improved how the Japanese cultivated silk.
But I'm sure Francis would enjoy having a nation that followed him around and made notes? I dunno? xD
There is also several attempts in the 17th and 18th Century of French people trying to break through the 'seclusion' of Japan. But I think Mentor!France would be more fun to play out? What do you think?

So was anyone keen on starting it or did we want to plan it out more? I'm sure even if we did start it, we could make something work.

Hahaha, well, I like to make sure you don't have to do the work and that the information is consistent in all the sources I've provided for you.
Let's do early 18th century...so I still have a bit of pride left. He'll probably get Sadik's approval, most of the time, depending on how at ease he wants to make Francis feel. xD
Hey hey...heyyy! You knew I was rude from the very start. xD Did it work though? Did I scare you? >D
Hmm, I certainly could start it. Would you feel more comfortable if I did?
