Geneva Cointrin International Airport, Geneva, Switzerland - 3:15 PM[/u]
"Big bruder, are you okay...?" Lili Zwingli stared up at her older brother, who had seemed to be a bit tense in the face. The gun arched upon his back wasn't used for quite a while, but for some reason, Lili could sense that he wanted to use it so badly. Even when the two were away in America for the World Conference (and a bit of relaxation), Vash Zwingli just seemed to keep that scowl across his features.
"Ja. I'm fine." Was his answer, the words came out lowly whilst pulling his little sister closer to his eyesight, so she wouldn't be lost in the crowd of people.
The flight from America was long, she could admit that, but the only thing she could explain for Vash's sudden tenseness was the long wait, he could be a bit impatient at times--no, no that wasn't it. Something was wrong, really wrong, to the point she can't even read the older's expressions anymore. There came a tightness feeling eroding in the pit of Lili's chest, as if nervousness became a full figure and began to hit her with all her might. On the outside, she looked nothing of the sort, but internally, she was severely worried.

"That was a long ride huh, big bruder?" Lili and Vash walked the rest of the way to their home from the airport. She couldn't wait to change back into her normal pink dress and stockings after a nice, hot bath; maybe even make the Swiss another nightgown just because. With a smile etched onto her light-toned face, she walked gracefully alongside Vash, hoping he would eventually tell her what's on his mind.
"...We haven't ate yet, have we?"
Lili's emerald eyes slid over to the older nation, soon realizing herself that the two haven't. Slowly shaking her head, the Liechtensteiner parted her lips to respond.
"Nein. Should I make käsknöfle tonight, then?" Voice a bit squeaky, the female sensed the blankness in her brother's tone, stopping mid-walk to place a hand on his shoulder, "It should help you relax after the flight..."
Vash sighed, "Do not go crazy with the ingredients, that stuff costs money, Lili."
"Right."
Picking up their suitcases and bags, they were about to make way up the road to their house once more; Lili's nose began to feel a pepper-like sensation, making her sneeze in result.
"What's wrong?" Vash said, quickly turning his head, identical emerald hues beaming directly at her.
"N-nothing. It's just...it smells like smoke, somewhere.." She answered, rubbing her nose.
"Smoke...?" Vash looked behind, in front, and side-to-side of them to locate the source of the smoke his little sister was talking about. It was only their home nearby; he saw no trees in flames, nobody burning anything in the fields. With a gasp, he quickly clasped Lili's small hand, picking up speed farther up the dirt road.

Vash and Lili Zwingli's House, Geneva, Switzerland - 3:32 PM[/u]
The two huffed and puffed after their run. Quickly, Vash opened the gate to their home, eyes widening and emerald pupils lowering.
"What the--?!?!"
"Vash!! Our home!!" Lili said with small cracks in her voice. The two stared at a once-beautiful home now in a burning ruin: Shingles, borders, everything--now in a pile of a flaming mess. Lili walked closer, only to see pages of her diary scattered about; charred pages burning alongside the other belongings that resided in their household. Dropping to her knees, the young female nation began to weep, clenching the dirt and grass beneath her. Vash balled up his hands, filled with vengeance, choking the air that happened to slither through the cracks of his fingers in sheer rage.
"Where are we going to go...?" Lili asked in her native tongue, tears staining her cheeks, doll eyes coming to a close. Vash could only stare at the burning remains of what they /used/ to call home, eyebrows narrowing angrily.
"I'll kill whoever done this. Ich schwöre es(I swear it)."
Lili sniffled, "Our home, big bruder...it's all gone...how can we...get all of this back..?"
"I'll figure that out. You'll have to stay with someone until I get this all fixed." Vash ordered in his reply.
A sunken feeling shot through the younger; be away from her older brother? When was the last time she done that?! Closing her eyes tightly, Lili shook, head also shaking in negotiation.
"I don't want to, I want to stay with y--"
"Lili! It's for the best! Just listen to me!" Vash snapped back, "I promise, I'll call you, and the day I come pick you up, you'll see the house as if this never happened."
Oh, how he tried to hide the rage he felt so deep inside from his younger sister, he didn't want her to worry of him, especially if he was sending her off somewhere until this was all resolved.
Lili remained on her knees, head down at the ground, struggling to talk because of the tightness in her throat, "Versprochen (promise)?"
Vash nodded, "Versprochen."

Berlin Schönefeld Airport - Tuesday, 10:20 AM[/u]
A long sigh emitted from the Liechtensteiner's lips as she sat in the airport lobby. So much has happened for the past couple days, there was no reason to smile anymore. Clutching the same suitcase she took to America for the World Conference, Lili's eyes slid left and right for the person she was now staying with. Germany, or better yet, Ludwig Beilschmidt.
Ludwig and Lili haven't really talked much since she lived with Vash, and it was a shame they had to meet again under these circumstances. She didn't want to feel like a burden upon him, and right about now, that's what it was looking like. Vash had called him to see if he could house Lili for some time while he went out to see who had destroyed their home ("went out to see" being the nicer version of what he really was going to do) and to their surprise, he accepted, which, really, she was thankful for, but at the same time she didn't want to do this on such short notice. Her eyes began to welt again, thinking of the diary she wrote since after the World War being burned to nothing; this was going to be one depressing while for her--she just wished this was all a dream.
A dream that someone could just wake her up from immediately.
