I don't know why but I strangely find this prospect exciting with all the chaos and looting (threats) happening in the near future...
But hmmm yeah. Shutdown in a nutshell:
Because fucking Republicans and Democrats couldn't reach a compromise on the funding bill by Tuesday midnight, there is no funding for the government, so it is shutting down!
I am also somewhat glad that we don't have an America for now because the mun would be in so much trouble with all the teasing from us
Particularly from me
Poor thing.
[Travel report still in progress. >.> I am sorry.]

Oh yes, my Economics teacher (Who primarily has left wing views.) was discussing this yesterday before class ended. Tis is unfortunate, depending on your perspective on the whole matter.

It really is a shame when the people apparently 'in charge' can't seem to agree on anything. When I heard of it, it just reminded me of a group of kids throwing their toys around and refusing to play nicely simply because things hadn't gone their way.
Here's hoping they sort themselves out and get back to work soon.

Agreed Feli. Also interestingly enough (Or quite obviously), the shutdown has even effected the area where I live. Two classmates in my Career Internship class were to intern in some sort of government like job (I think?) Hence, they can't go through with the desired internship they wanted.

Exactly.
Told Feli already, but the shutdown has an impact directly on me as well.
I was going to a Department of State semi-interview, and as I ironed my clothes, it passed 9:02pm my time.... the bill didn't pass, and in next few hours I received an email saying the diplomat's interview was cancelled.
Not just that - the School of Medicine (where I am currently working) receives most of his funding from the National Institute of Health. The current year funding didn't get cancelled yet, but next year is going to be somewhat affected - the NIH is not accepting application from us.
This is just sad that two parties are still pointing fingers at each other... Healthcare is nice! Stop trying to veto it!
